I love Code Geass especially the story and main character Lelouch. But I kinda not interesting with their mecha design (knight mare?). I don't really like how the cockpit attached at their back, just like eureka 7style design.
When I saw robot damashii Alexander at store, I made an execption. His bio-mechanical-alien-spider-skeletal-evangelion looks, somehow unmatched with other knight mare design and He make me buy him without even wathcing the show. Well, i later watch the series anyway, which annoyingly has the gundam Unicorn series bad habit for only released one episode per year :(. It has great animation and amazing fighting scene, as for the story, i think not as good as the original code geass.
I personally think that Alexander type is much more suitable for super robot genre rather than real robot. The back cockpit is still somehow annoying, but once you attached the twin riffle using the 'tails', he looks great.
The looks
The detail and proportion for this figure is very good, i said very closed to the original design from the anime (OVA?). Paint job is nicely done and i do not see any excess paint anywhere.
Joints and articulation
Head and neck: head are on a double ball joint. It should be able
to do full rotations, but the movement somehow hinder by its ponytail. Up and
down movement performed quite good. Side notch also hinder by the pony tail.
Shoulder and arms: There lots of thing going on at the shoulder joint section. Swivel joint, two single balls joint, double ball joint, which means you will get great range of motion from it. The shoulder armor tent to have similar problems. You just need a bit careful with it. Elbows are double jointed, and hand connected to wrist using ball joint. It has standard robot damashii joint at lower arm, which is good.
Body : Torso, waist and cockpit : the chest part and abdomen were connected
via double hinge connection which provided for transformation purpose. Back
crouch could be done extremely fine, while the front crouch get hinder by its
chimney-shape abs.
The waist is on ball joint which gives decent front, back, side and full rotation movement.
Hip section has front and back pieces attached with ball joint. The back pieces tend to pop off for dynamic posses since it shape kind of blocking the rotation movement and the ball joint feels too small.
Anyone who have not watch the movie might think that the backpack is just an abdomen for the spider mode which contain octopus arms with riffle inside ! Actually the backpack is a cockpit. It is unfortunated that the robot Damashii Version does not have the open cockpit feature like the model kit which also shows its pilot inside. By the way, the back pack could be pulled out for spider mode transformation.

Legs section: the thigh connected to hip using ball joint
and rotated pivot. The ranges of motions are great. Piece of side skirt (?) attached at tight at ball joints. The knee has swivel and can bend almost 180.
The foot connected with ball joint / swivel and has 2 separated sections (toe), so it has good movement . The wheels have movement and attached to foot at ball joints.
Accessories
Robot damashii Alexander comes with lots of accessories which kind of surprise me
- Alternatives face : Two alternatives face, the one is for spider mode, the other is for 'berserk' mode. Details are good in my opinion.
- Hand Weapons : 3 pairs of tonfa, one pair of hand blade, one pair of riffle. Details are good. I just wish that it would be better if they just made 1 pairs with articulated parts to perform all mode.
-Tentakels (?) for rifles mounting at cockpit.
I think it would be better to use pictures of some posses
rather than show accessories individually to show how well their performance
are:
I was thinking a while before decided not to do the
transformation. The process need some part detachment at the area where the
joints are very stiff in my opinion, and I do not want to break the figure.
Besides, the spider mode does not really interest me. The only thing that I try
to re assemble is the arms for spider mode. If you curious with the
transformation by the way, you might consider using hot water treatment before
detaching the joints.

Final Thought :
This released is great IMO. It is very well articulated and great looking.
One thing to noticed though; this guy is designed for transformation which include detachable process. That means shoulder joints or other parts could pop off for effort to achieves maximum pose ability :D. Someone who looks for strong and detachable joints no matter how extreme the poses are might find this to be annoying. So you might want to consider it before getting him. For me, I haven't found any loose joints for posing, and if you ever try the model kit, you know how well this figure is compare to the mokit (the model kit has loose part everywhere which is horrible in my opinion). Besides, this is an action figure after all, not toys. I'm very pleased and have no problems with that. Highly recommended.
